Bloom Music Studio is a growing music school for kids in NE Portland. We are looking for a capable piano, guitar, and violin teacher(s). If you love sharing music with youth, have a passion for music, and are a person with high standards and integrity, then, We would love to hear from you.

 We are hiring a person who is passionate for teaching music and wants to support youth with art. We are willing to train a new teacher and also love to work with experienced teachers.

The studio is in the lower level of my home, so you must be respectful of the space and everyone living in it. There are three cats living in the house and two of them come into the studio, so you should like cats and be very kind to them (they rule the roost!). This is an independent contractor position.

 Responsibilities:

•   Plan and teach lessons per each child’s skill level.

• Teach music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques for honing musical skills.

• Celebrate each students efforts and help them become better through positive encouragement. Make sure each child feels successful at every lesson!

•  Communicate with parents effectively.

•  Communicate effectively with owner and other teachers.

•  Keep records with kids regarding what to practice.

• Follow safety and health protocols.

•  Must be fully vaccinated, and boosted if possible.

Qualifications:

• The most important thing is that you WANT to teach. It helps nobody if you are teaching just for a paycheck.

• Be a kind, open, and thoughtful communicator.

• You must have music theory, written, and aural skills.

•  Prepare students for twice yearly recitals

•  Be prepared to teach IN-PERSON

• You must pass a background check and be cleared by the state to work with kids.
